Getting Started at Agape Detox Center
Help Is Just a Phone Call Away
It takes courage to seek help for addiction. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or someone you love, choosing to seek help and answers is the first step toward healing. At Agape Detox Center, we want to make getting started in treatment the easiest part of what comes next.
Our admissions team is available around the clock. When you reach out, you’ll be answered by a real person- not an automated system, paperwork, or pressure. The person who answers your call is someone who understands what you’re going through and is here to help.
What to Expect from the Admissions Process
At Agape Detox Center, we try to make the admission process as easy, comfortable, and low-stress as possible.
We break down the entire process into five very simple steps:
Reach Out
It all starts with an email or a phone call. When you call us or fill out a contact form online, one of our admissions counselors will speak with you privately regarding your circumstances. No judgments, no pressure, and no obligations. It’s simply a discussion about where you currently are and what we can do to help you.
Admissions counselors will ask you questions about your substance use history, your current situation, and whether there are any other medical or psychological issues you’re struggling with that could impact your treatment. This is not an interrogation — it is merely the start of painting a picture of who you are and what type of help would be best suited for you. Initial consultations are always free and always confidential.
01
Insurance Verification
Once we have a better idea of what you need, we will promptly review your benefits so you can determine exactly what your insurance covers before making any decisions. We handle the whole process on your behalf — you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Agape Detox Center works with many major insurance companies, and our admissions team will explain your coverage to you clearly, including any applicable deductibles, copays, or additional charges you may incur during your stay. If you do not have insurance or have a gap in coverage, we will also go over private payment options and help you find an option that fits your budget.
02
Clinical Assessmentg
Before your arrival, our clinical staff will complete a comprehensive evaluation to ensure we have a clear understanding of your needs as you enter treatment. That includes reviewing your medical history, history of substance use, any co-occurring mental health conditions, and what you hope to achieve during your recovery.
That evaluation allows us to develop your personalized treatment plan before your actual arrival. Each client at Agape receives their own unique treatment plan — because no two people experience addiction in the same way.
03
Arrival and Intake
When you arrive at our Port St. Lucie facility, we’ll welcome you with a calm, unhurried intake process. You’ll be introduced to the staff who will be caring for you, get settled in, and have any questions you might have answered before your treatment starts.
Transitioning from home to a drug or alcohol detox center, especially if it’s the first time, can be stressful. It is common for clients to feel anxious and uncertain. However, it’s our goal to make that transition as smooth as possible. By the time you’ve gotten settled in, we strive to create an atmosphere where you will feel safe, welcomed, and ready.
04
Beginning Treatment
Once all intake requirements are met, treatment may begin. For most clients, this starts with a medically supervised detoxification — a carefully controlled process where substance use is phased down over time while being monitored around the clock by our medical staff. The health and well-being of each client is always our priority, and your treatment team will be with you every step of the way.
During detox, your clinical team will work continually to refine your treatment plan. As you progress through detox, your treatment team will also prepare you for the next phase of your care. This could include transitioning into inpatient treatment, an intensive outpatient program, or another type of care suited to meet your specific needs and situation.
05
What to Bring
To make check-in as easy as possible, we recommend bringing the following:
- A valid photo ID
- Insurance card and policy information
- List of any medications currently being taken
- Comfortable clothing for the duration of your stay
- Personal comfort items to help make you feel at home (books, photos, and other comfort items)
Our admissions team will provide you with a detailed checklist of items to bring and discuss any questions or concerns you may have about what is and isn’t permitted during your stay.
Take the Next Step
You don’t need to know everything before you reach out. All you need to do is pick up the phone. Our admissions team is available 24/7, and we are ready to listen, help, and start you on your recovery journey.
Frequently Asked Questions About Admissions
How quickly can I get admitted?
We can usually finalize the admission process and secure same-day or next-day placement. The sooner you reach out, the sooner we can coordinate the details.
Is everything I share kept confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed with our admissions team is strictly confidential and compliant with HIPAA. We are committed to maintaining confidentiality at every stage of the process.
What if I'm not sure treatment is right for me?
Yes. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals who need to maintain their professional or academic schedules while engaging in high-intensity clinical care.
Can family members be involved in the admissions process?
Absolutely. Support from family members is an important part of the recovery process for many people entering treatment. We encourage family involvement with the approval of the client and will communicate directly with family members if you wish us to do so.
